Candidates for Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is a group of 5 Qualified Electors who are elected or appointed to staggered 4 year terms. The Board is responsible for actions to manage the Community Improvement District (CID) it represents.

Required to become a Board member:

  • You must be a Qualified Elector: at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, a permanent legal resident of Florida, registered to vote in Collier County, and a resident in the Port of the Islands Community Improvement District.

Desirable in a Board member:

  • Previous experience with contracts, contractor management, government, construction, landscaping, or lakes maintenance is highly pertinent.

Seats 1, 3, and 5 are up for election on 11/05/2024. The election is run by Collier County on behalf of the District. Below is a link to the Collier County Elections website page with candidate information and deadlines for the 2024 Special District Elections.

Candidates may qualify by paying a fee of $25.00 or submitting 25 valid petitions from registered voters in the District. Candidates desiring to qualify by petition must submit 25 valid petitions signed by district voters. Please see the Candidate handbook for more instructions and deadlines.
